Critical Communication: Clear communication saves lives during emergencies.

🔊 PA Announcements

Fire Emergency:
  • Continuous alarm = Evacuate immediately
  • Intermittent beeping = Standby for instructions
  • Voice announcement = Follow specific directions
Lockdown Emergency:
  • “Lockdown, lockdown, lockdown” = Secure areas immediately
  • “Secure the building” = Lock exterior doors, continue activities
All-Clear:
  • “All clear” = Emergency over, resume normal activities
  • Repeated 3 times = Confirmed by staff verification

💬 Emergency Chat Rules

Emergency chat is for critical safety communications ONLY.
✅ Acceptable:
  • “Need help - student injured”
  • “Exit blocked - using alternate route”
  • “All students accounted for”
  • “Unable to evacuate - trapped”
❌ Prohibited:
  • “What’s happening?”
  • “Is this real or a drill?”
  • Social conversations
  • Speculation about emergency
Priority Order:
  1. EMERGENCY - Life-threatening situations
  2. URGENT - Route problems, missing persons
  3. IMPORTANT - Status updates, coordination
  4. ROUTINE - Suspended during emergencies

📞 Communication Chain

Emergency Coordinator: Overall status, building-wide instructions Teachers/Staff: Classroom status, student accountability
Students: Personal emergencies only, follow instructions
When to Call 911:
  • Someone seriously injured
  • Immediate danger to life
  • Fire or explosion
  • Medical emergency
Parent Communication:
  • Handled by administration only
  • Official channels only
  • No individual staff contact during emergencies
