## 🚨 Emergency Response Training

### Fire Emergency Procedures

**Staff Response Protocol:**

**Immediate Actions (0-30 seconds):**

1. **Direct student evacuation** - "Fire alarm! Everyone line up at the door now!"
2. **Grab emergency folder** - Contains class roster and emergency supplies
3. **Turn off lights** and close (don't lock) classroom door
4. **Lead students to nearest exit** using designated evacuation route
5. **Maintain group cohesion** - keep students together as a unit

**During Evacuation (30 seconds - 5 minutes):**
6\. **Guide students efficiently** - walk quickly but don't allow running
7\. **Assist students with special needs** - mobility, hearing, vision impairments
8\. **Keep accurate count** of students throughout evacuation
9\. **Communicate problems** to other staff via radio if available
10\. **Be the last to exit** your assigned area after ensuring all students are out

**At Assembly Point (5+ minutes):**
11\. **Take attendance immediately** using class roster
12\. **Report missing students** to emergency coordinator immediately
13\. **Keep students organized** and calm in designated area
14\. **Await further instructions** - do not dismiss students without authorization

### Lockdown Procedures

**Staff Lockdown Protocol:**

**Immediate Securing (0-60 seconds):**

1. **Lock classroom door** immediately and engage all available locks

3. **Move students** away from doors and windows to safest area
4. **Barricade door** if possible using desks, chairs, or other furniture
5. **Take silent attendance** - know who is in your care

**Maintaining Security (Duration of lockdown):**
6\. **Keep everyone quiet** - no talking, whispering, or unnecessary movement
7\. **Monitor students** for signs of panic or medical issues
8\. **Stay alert** for official communications and instructions
9\. **Be prepared to evacuate** if instructed by law enforcement
10\. **Maintain lockdown** until official all-clear is given

**Communication During Lockdown:**
11\. **Monitor radio/communication** systems for official updates
12\. **Report emergencies only** - injuries, medical issues, immediate threats
13\. **Do not respond** to unknown voices claiming to be police
14\. **Wait for visual confirmation** of law enforcement before opening doors
